Variations on the Mafia Rules
This is a general thread for discussing variations of the mafia rules.
One interesting variation is a no-reveal game. The rules are the same as a "reveal" game of Mafia, however, the GM does not reveal a player's role upon their character's death. The village only knows if they've won when the GM announces the game is over.
No-reveal games are harder than reveal games, so I think it would fit the Intermediate/Expert games better than the Beginner category. In no-reveal games, the Cop/Seer is usually replaced with the Pubmaster (ie, a person who gives other players Cop/Seer powers temporarily.) Milkmaids and (Werewolf-style) Masons are pretty useful "extra Power Roles" for this kind of game as well.

Wow, that sounds pretty interesting. I know I've played many no reveal games in Epic mafia, but not exactly in that way.
Out of curiousity, are there other roles you would suggest? I've always been curious about doing a cultist/mason game. Always wondered how that would turn out.

I'm not sure what you mean with the last question. ^.^;;
And when you say a cultist/mason game, do you mean a game with both Cultists and Masons? That sounds like it would be pretty chaotic, but at the same time, it sounds like a lot of fun!

Yep! That's what I meant, I'm always curious about those kinds of games! =)
So, with my last question, I meant what other roles do you think would work with a blackout/no reveal style type of mafia?

Oh, right!
Let's see:
The Hunter kills another player when they've died, so featuring a Hunter is useful. Especially if the Hunter is lynched during the day, and the GM lists two people as dead... XD
Characters that survive longer than they usually would, such as theOld Man or the Queen, are useful as well. "We lynched them, but they aren't dead... By process of elimination, you must be..."
