When is it wise for the Townies to vote "No Lynch?" Empty When is it wise for the Townies to vote "No Lynch?"

This question came up on a game in the Galaxy Cauldron forum. At the time, due to the Doctor protecting us, Natasha and I were both proven to be non-mafia. Natasha suggested that the Town should vote "No Lynch" the first two days. I questioned the strategy, but Natasha explained her logic behind it: because there was both a Serial Killer and Mafia members, it could benefit the town to wait a few days and let the Serial Killer and Mafia fight each other at night. (I hope I'm not misrepresenting the logic you presented, Natasha... This is how I remember it being worded though.)

The strategy worked very well for that game, and the Town won.

I thought that particular game was interesting, so I'd start a thread on the concept. The group I play Werewolf with offline is not fond of No Lynches. The only time the group will accept a No Lynch is during the first day of a no-reveal game. (A no-reveal game is a game where the GM does not reveal what role a person was when they die. These games usually have a lot of special Power Roles to make it easier for the village to figure out who was who.)

I usually find no lynching annoying at times, but it can work when played right. I believe it could work the best if you look at what roles are left and how many Townies are left. If there are a lot of Townies you can risk a no lynched. I know it sounds mean to sacrifice a fellow player, but hey it's mafia!

Hey Zodia, the ideal time to no lynch is when you are 100% and completely unsure of who is mafia/any 3rd party role/fool. The reason being is that, if you can afford to no lynch you should, at times mafia push the lynch so then there are less people to worry about.

It is more beneficial to mafia then it is to a villager to lynch, unless village knows for sure what the target is, or they are trying to do an elimination process to narrow down who's left and what their roles are.

There are other scenerios, but seeing as we won't be playing them for a while, I believe it's best to hold off until those games have been introduced. =)
