Natasha's Midnight Sun Challenge

Wow! That's horrible. Agh... That sounds super frustrating >< Especially because you'd gotten as far as you did in the challenge...

Yep... this time he is an author/gardener/fisherman/handiness.

I'm going to wait til he's an adult to vacation this time. xD

So, my sim is an adult now. He is an best selling author, has penned 30 novels...

Maxed Gardening, Cooking, Fishing, Handiness, and Writing. He has over 86,000 simeolons which he earned mostly from writing. 

His first vacation "this" time is in France. I figure might as well get all the fancy grapes and some nectar making stations. His wife (whoever it is this time) can raise the children while gardening so he can focus on his novelist career. Of course the children will learn all about writing and fishing and gardening as well...I mean, why not, right? They have no school, I'm sure! xD

My plan is to have all the offspring be best selling authors...this way they rack up the royalties every week like crazy! I might change my mind, but this seems like a brilliant plan in my lil head. xD

I think having twins or triplets would be awesome, you know, more income? but eh...Might be too much work when you only need 5 generations to complete the challenge. 

His lifetime wishes so far are as follows:

BOO! My sim tried to marry a sim who turned out to be a cashier, and well, was unable to ever propose. So on day 3 I met another girl, but he ended up with a cheater reputation even though the last girl and him never dated!!!

So, now I am going to go to China, and attempt to woo a wife there, but I have to wait for the "getting over vacation" moodlet thing to go away. 

More books to write! At least I got tons of nectar making stations and whatnot. 

I also got the lifetime wish

I wrote books and worked on skills until I had 25,000 lifetime happiness points to buy clean slate. Then went straight to China!  

Success! Look who is home and knocked up! =D

The Second Generation!

Say hello to Natalia Dryer! (Yeah I was pretty lazy and named the kid my kid's name with a different vowel. Natalie, Natalia, lmao!)

Natalie is Eccentric and Athletic. I think that's not so bad for a randomized trait listing, hopefully I'll continue to luck out.





Natalia's mother is a martial arts/athletic/cooking/gardening/bass/drums/guitar/piano person. xD But she's pretty fun to play because she has such a variety of skills. Right now I have her maintaining the garden while Ted takes care of the munchkin.



Ted adores his baby girl, but before she was born, he actually had wanted a boy. lol! His views changed pretty quickly because all of his wishes besides writing books has been about snuggling, holding, and playing with her! He has written 40 books, and is 2 days away from becoming a senior. I've decided his career is over (not that he has one, but $70,000 a week in royalties seems good enough) because I want him to take care of Natalia before he dies. I can't believe he's already near a senior. This basically means he will probably die when Natalia is a teen or young adult.



She's a toddler now, and honestly, I'm like:  

I did not want this much of an age difference. I adore Ted and I'm kind of sad that he won't get to see his grandchildren. He's worked so hard making logic, guitar, fishing, cooking, writing, nectar making, gardening, photography and alot of other stuff I can't seem to remember atm.

Money isn't much of an issue because Ted has made SO much for his family in his young adult-adult years. They're house is mostly built and they are sitting at around a $205,000 value. $175,000 of that is just cash though. I don't like spending a lot on houses when I don't have to, you see? Plus space is so limited it seems pretty dumb atm to fancy it up.



Well, here's to Natalia! She will be the official Nectar Maker of the family since her mom is focusing on her lifetime wish and gardening. Natalia will get the multitab the moment she turns child, and learn it all while working on her painting skill. The house needs some brightening up. All I have are these like you got to level 10 in this skill degree things everywhere! xD

So how do these challenges work? I have sims but i never heard of some of these things before.

Well the challenges are kind of something to give you a project when you get bored of doing the sims 3, and need some kind of focus. The rules and all the stuff are in the sims 3 challenges. If you have a question about a particular challenge, ask in that thread okay?

In the meantime, they are pretty simple, you follow the rules and you attempt to complete them when you have the time! =D

Your challenge is inspiring me to go back to my version of the Midnight Sun Challenge. I've never had a Sim master the piano skill, nor have I fulfilled the Nectar-Maker lifetime want. Hmm...

Interesting! I really hope you do go back to it and keep track of it in your own thread! That would be pretty much pure awesomeness! Plus the people who complete the challenges will get put in the "trophy room" I will create when SOMEONE completes a challenge! xD

Natalia was a cute toddler, but if I'm being honest, I absolutely hate the toddler stages. They are so useless, have so many needs they can't take care of on their own, and just...BOO! xD 

Ted however did not feel the same way. In fact, he taught her how to talk. Ted told Natalia all about how he met her mom, but of course had to explain how he broke a couple hearts in France first. It was sad, but then he told her all about how he cleaned up his reputation and stopped cheating, and how he happily married her mother and now here Natalia was. 




There were the not so pleasant teachings Ted had to make as a father. For example, potty training. 




And then there was teaching her to walk. All these things Ted embraced with ease and I think he is an excellent Dad!



However, I am incredibly happy that Ted and Natalia aged up. I HATE the toddler stage because gosh they are just so useless. xD 

But yeah!!! ted is a senior now who no longer writes, and will be letting his daughter take over in that field. In the meantime, he is doing nectar making!!! =D 

I'm still working on the mom's lifetime wish. She has MAXED guitar. I'm working on Bass, Piano, and Drums atm. I'm also transferring the multitab over to Natalia. 



Doesn't Natalia just look happy to be born and raised on a stranded island? 

so now when she grows up will she go and take a husband from a place XD

Yep! I might want to get an Egyptian guy for her. I'd love to see how the chinese and egyptian features mix.

So, it's been a while since I've played this challenge, BUT I figured I may as well let you know what the family has been up to.

Although I don't have screenshots to prove it, Biyu and Ted have been jamming along together, trying to get her lifetime wish done. Currently Ted is playing the Bass while his wife plays the piano. They are a cute little duo. Biyu is at 7/10. Once she maxes that, she will switch to the drums while Ted finishes maxing the Bass. 



Natalia on the other hand, spends all her free time on the easel while listening to writing, photography, and logic tabcasts. She is a level 6 painter who is maxed in writing. Her lifetime wish is the illustrious author. Since she is maxed in writing, I just need to focus on getting her painting maxed. She is painting 30 small paintings so then she can paint faster. I want to supermax her skill. 



Wasn't she such a cute little child? Anyways, once she gets her painting skill SUPER MAXED, I will save all the paintings that I didn't sell, because when that chick dies, they will be worth alooot. I'm hoping to get this completed during her teenage years. That way I can get her to write until she makes $100,000 a week. Ted actually makes $87,000 a week without working... So I want her to suceed him. 



This little bugger was hanging in the kitchen. Creepy little gnome, isn't he? I've actually never seen him before, so I'm letting him hang around. 



And here is Natalia as a teenager. She is gorgeous if I say so myself... I just wish she hadn't gotten Biyu's puffy cheeks. (Yes, I finally learned her mother's name.)

I realized that I never showed off Natalia's outfit. You know, I loooove custom content for the sims 3. The hair, the clothes, the makeup! It makes me squeal with delight, because in MY opinion how your sim dresses and takes care of themselves relates to their personality. So, Natalia had gotten a new trait when she turned teen, which was irresistible. Hence the clothing choice. I wanted her to look pretty, well dressed, but mature and grown up without the skank look. xD



Ted and Biyu garden together in the mornings now that the garden is no longer dormant. I'm extremely focused on getting Natalia's painting super maxed. So they do all the menial work I don't want Natalia doing while I train up her skills. Currently Natalia is focusing on painting and is a level 8. All she needs to do to supermax the skill is get level 10 and paint 5 masterpieces. Wooot!



In the meantime, she has maxed photography, writing, nectarmaking, and is working on cooking now while painting. The multitab is the best investment ever. You can do 2 things at once until it runs out of subjects to teach you. Ted never maxed logic and something else, and I know Biyu cetainly didn't max everything, but I've got the feeling Natalia will. She's had the ipad as a kid and teen.



So, I have a confession to make... I totally forgot what putting those lil dolls on the floor did. I hadn't played with those things in like a year and half, and to be honest, I was curious what putting the dumb doll on the floor did. When I saw he got shooed away immediately and put back in Natalia's inventory. Sad to say Rags wasn't happy about being told to go the hell away and didn't like Natalia anymore. Eh, not supposed to be having friends outside the fams anyways, Natalia!



And here is Biyu! She had just maxed the Piano! Now she's working on drums. She's a level 5 in Drums and level 3 in bass, and just turned into an adult! So she's focusing on drums atm, and then will do the bass, which Ted is still trying to max inbetween gardening and repairing stuff. Speaking of Ted, Natalia is 7 days away from aging to young adult, and Ted is already like 94 days old. If he's lucky he will make it, but I'm expecting him to kick the bucket at anytime.

When Natalia turns young adult, I'm sending her to Egypt to pick up a young Egyptian dude. I want to get her pregnant asap and have her hubby raise the kid while she focuses on her goals. I no longer need money at all, in fact I could stand to renovate this hellhole. But yeah, the family networth is at about 1,370,000ish simeoloeons. As you can see, I have no problem making money without careers. Considering all I ever did was focus on things that didn't send my sim to a rabbit hole, I can make money easily. ^^



Anywho, I may or may not be taking a break from this challenge. I know that I want to also work on my immortal dynasty challenge sometime today. And since I split my time between the Munchkin and the computer... well, it doesn't leave much time for gaming because you can't exactly walk away from your sims during these challenges...they could break the RULES!!! =O

So do you all remember how I said that Ted wouldn't live to see his daughter to become a young adult, and that made me sad? Well...I was right. Unfortunately. 



Natalia had the worst young adult birthday ever...Right as she walked up to the cake, Ted died right in front of her. And then the grim reaper came, and then a fire started burning the cake, the furniture, and of course we had to extinguish it while ted was being taken away. 




Natalie blew out the candles and aged to young adult though, and if things just couldn't get worse, it was like Grim HAD to add salt to the injury by taking a piece of cake and joining Natalia's private birthday party! That buttmunch. 



She looks just like her mom when she ages, but I have her do her hair and change her outfit. I'm thinking about sending her to University since the rules state that she can. She can go twice in order to get her degree, and then after that it has to be China, Egypt, or France. 



I'm sending her to Egypt in order to get a husband. Let's mix up those Chinese and Egyptian genetics! BAHAHAHA!



I will forever remember and miss Ted. He was an amazing founder, and now his income is gone too. *Sads*

What an evil Grim for doing that.
